El fin del futuro

Julio escribió un texto lleno de imágenes, situaciones, escenarios y proyecciones de la ciencia ficción. Está muy bien escrito: es entretenido y fácil de entender y seguir. Era de esperarse, por el éxito narrativo que han tenido sus otros proyectos. Si eres curioso del futuro y disfrutas las visiones de lo que puede ocurrir, lo vas a disfrutar.
Por otro lado, la investigación es superficial, por lo menos en las referencias finales, y muestra un “sesgo de confirmación” para mí claro, por su selección. Esto está bien, porque el libro me dejó con la sensación de haber leído un ensayo más que un manual.
Y en este ensayo, para mí, lo mejor fue el marco de pensamiento: la extensión del cuerpo, de la mente, de la realidad y de la conciencia. Fascinante ejercicio de pensamiento sobre lo que nos depara el futuro, aunque sea el futuro de Julio, lo cual está bien.
Julio wrote a text full of images, situations, scenarios and science fiction projections. It is very well written: entertaining and easy to understand and follow. That was to be expected, given the narrative success of his other projects. If you are curious about the future and enjoy visions of what may come, you will enjoy it.
On the other hand, the research is shallow, at least in the final references, and to me it shows a clear “confirmation bias” in its selection. That is fine, because the book left me with the feeling of having read an essay rather than a manual.
And in this essay, for me, the best part was the thinking framework: the extension of the body, of the mind, of reality and of consciousness. A fascinating thought exercise about what the future holds for us, even if it is Julio's future, which is fine.
