Una novela que me marcó profundamente por su ritmo narrativo, su retrato del México patriarcal y las sensaciones que me dejó al leerla. La descubrí a los 17 años en la biblioteca pública de Nykobing Falster, durante mi año de intercambio en Dinamarca. En medio de un entorno donde prácticamente no existían referencias a la cultura latinoamericana, esta novela se convirtió en mucho más que una historia: fue una conexión con un mundo familiar y, al mismo tiempo, una ventana hacia otra realidad.
A novel that marked me deeply for its narrative rhythm, its portrait of patriarchal Mexico, and the sensations it left me as I read it. I discovered it at 17 in the public library of Nykobing Falster, during my exchange year in Denmark. In an environment with practically no references to Latin American culture, this novel became much more than a story: it was a connection to a familiar world and, at the same time, a window into another reality.
